Well the weather has been so kind since before Xmas. We knew it couldn't last forever and today the snow arrived. It is only due to last 3 days and we need as much water as we can get, so the best thing is to go with it, get a warming stew in the slow cooker and a big fire blazing, hunker down and do the things we don't have time for when we are working on the house. That's my plan anyway - Ian is pressing on with his new found carpentry skills and adding the finishing touches to his beautiful wardrobes, as well as creating a window screen to subdue the brilliant coloured light that comes through our glass block window in the morning sunlight. Now the light is pleasantly dappled and the window throws muted colours across the bedroom. Every time he comes in I have thought of a new project for him; from a small block to hold a notice in the bathroom to a bedside table. Nothing fazes him and he is full of enthusiasm for it all. If only yeso plaster enthralled him so much we'd be half way through the second apartment by now! While the terriers laze next to the fire, the big dogs have disappeared to explore the snowscape and are now no doubt stuck somewhere sheltering from the fresh fall. The nights are a bit cold for them to stay out now and we expect them back by tea time if it stops a little. Meanwhile, my mind wanders to the Sierra Nevada ski slopes high above us and I know they will be glorious in their new coat. I feel another day trip coming on!
